Oil and GasCommtel delivers telecommunication system
for 12” Sudan Pipeline Project

Commtel was awarded this project by Larsen & Toubro for design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of SDH STM-4 transmission system for the 724 Kms long 12” Sudan Pipeline Project. In addition to the Marconi SDH Transmission System the project involves supply of Nokia PDH Equipment with NMS, Alcatel Digital EPABX System, ICOM HF Radio Equipment and TAIT VHF Trunked Radio Equipment. In recently concluded Factory Acceptance Testing for the SDH Transmission System, Nokia PDH Equipment, Alcatel EPABX System at L&T premises in Mumbai the system was cleared for despatch by Dodsal, OVL and SPPC. HF and VHF Radio systems will be delivered to site directly and integrated with the transmission system. Site activities will commence from first week of July onwards and the system is scheduled to be handed over to the end customer in middle of August, 2005.

Commtel secures a major turnkey telecommunication project with Indian Oil
Corporation Ltd.

Indian Oil Corporation Limited, recently awarded the work for design engineering, installation, testing and commissioning of a SDH STM-1 system including Tejas STM-1 SDH Equipment, Nokia Primary Mux Equipment, EPABX System, IP Based CCTV System, Power Supplies, Batteries and other related equipment for their 385 Kms long Koyali-Ratlam-Dahej pipeline project to Commtel. This project was secured by Commtel under stiff competition from large companies. The telecommunication system for this project is to be handed over to IOCL within 9 months from the date of award.

PowerCommtel delivers telecommunication and teleprotection system for APTRANSCO
Nokia TPS-64 digital Teleprotection equipment along with 8 Mbit/s optical fibre based digital transmission system was supplied to APTRANSCO, ALSTOM and GVK Power in the state of Andhra Pradesh by Commtel. Supply of Nokia TPS-64 digital teleprotection system is perhaps the first ever in the Indian power utilities market. The system was designed, integrated, supplied and installed by Commtel at three locations near Rajahmundry in AP. Factory acceptance testing for this system was completed by our customers at our systems integration facility in Navi Mumbai successfully in the month of May, 2005. The system is installed at site and should be commissioned in the month of July, 2005.

issue-02Commtel commissions 17 Nokia BSC’s in Himchal Pradesh and Haryana
Nokia India, had awarded the work for site survey, installation and commissioning of Nokia BSC equipment for their BSNL GSM build in the Northern Region to Commtel. 17 x BSC’s were to be installed and commissioned in the Northern States of Himachal Pradesh and Hayrana. Commtel completed all the activities as required by Nokia in the month of May, 2005.

The optical by-pass switch developed by Commtel and named OPTO-LEAP is being promoted by us in the India and Middle East Markets for the past few months, we are pleased to inform that we have recently supplied this product to Qatar Petroleum (QP) and have secured orders for supply of this product to Tata Power Broadband. These customers have noted the primary advantage by having their network operational on end to end basis in case of power failures at some locations. This indeed is the USP of OPTO-LEAP.

Issue - 02 TelecomunicationDevelopment of Specific Application Software Modules
Commtel developed an agent to work along with Nokia NMS/10 Network Management System for collecting external alarm information via Nokia Supervisory Substation Hardware unit. The agent facilitates graphical representation of external alarm type and labelling of these inputs. The software has been delivered to IOCL and APTRANSCO recently. We have also developed an add-on software module for collecting trip event information from Nokia Digital Teleprotection Signalling Equipment (TPS-64).

Commtel Signs Re-Seller Agreement with Transmode AB
Transmode Systems AB develops, markets and sells managed optical solutions for metro networks. Transmode Systems AB was founded in April 2000 and is based in Stockholm, Sweden. Transmode is a CWDM pioneer and focus from the beginning has been on CWDM as a key optical technology to fully exploit the existing networking protocols. The competence base spans the entire business spectrum, ranging from component to system, from installation to research and from marketing to production. Commtel is Re-Seller of Tramsmode Systems AB in India.
