Oil and GasCommtel Delivers the Telecommunication System for Reliance’s East-West Pipeline Project
Commtel recently set-up a Subsidiary Unit in the name of Commtel Networks (FZC) in the SAIF Zone, UAE. The 5000 Sq. Feet state of the art facilities is now ready to support Systems Integration, System Design Engineering, System Testing and related Support activities for the projects in Europe, Middle East and Africa Region.

Commtel secures another major turnkey pipeline telecommunication project with Indian Oil Corporation Ltd.
Indian Oil Corporation Limited, recently awarded the work for design engineering, installation, testing and commissioning of a SDH STM-1 system including Tejas STM-1 SDH Equipment, Nokia Primary Mux Equipment, EPABX System, Power Supplies, Batteries and other related equipment for their 132 Kms long Dadri – Panipat LNG Pipeline Project to Commtel. This project was secured by Commtel under stiff competition from large companies. The telecommunication system for this project is to be handed over to IOCL within 9 months from the date of award.

Commtel will deploy Nokia Siemens Networks 18 GHz FlexiHopper Radio equipment for interconnecting ONGC’s office complex’s in Mumbai
Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) awarded Commtel a contract to design, supply, install, test and commission a point-to-point Digital Microwave link between their office complex’s at Vasudhara Bhawan and 11 High in Mumbai. The microwave link would be operating in the 18GHz band and will provide capacity of 4x2 Mbit/s. The microwave radio link will also provide direct Ethernet connectivity between the two locations. Nokia Siemens Networks, FlexiHopper Radio equipment will be deployed by Commtel in 1+1 HSB configuration. Commtel’s scope also involves design engineering, supply and installation of roof top towers as well.

Power

PowerPGCIL extends the maintenance services contract of telecommunication system for their Northern Region Control and Co-Ordination project to Commtel
Power Grid Corporation Of India Limited had awarded Commtel a contract for providing maintenance support services to PGCIL’s wideband communication network of SC&C-NR Project. The Maintenance Period was for two year commencing from 16th September, 2005 at 00.00Hrs. During this period Commtel maintained a continuous system availability of > 99.9%, which exceeded the SLA, targets as per the contract.

PGCIL extended the contract period for one more year commencing from 16th September, 2007 on Commtel. The Northern region power system interconnects the generation, transmission and distribution facilities of various constituents (State Electricity Utilities) in 8 states in Northern India. There are a total of 125 sites in these eight states and the network mainly consists of Nokia DMR2000 Digital Microwave Equipment (312 Nos) along with cross connect equipment (21 Nos), primary multiplex equipment (186 Nos) and channel units, Nokia Network Management System with application servers. The Network also contains SDH STM-1 equipment of Fujitsu FLX150T (26 Nos) and FLX150/600 (40 Nos) along with FLEXRPlus Network Management system. Commtel has deployed a dedicated team of system engineers for this project.

Transportation

TransportationCommtel Commission’s the PDH Network for Western Railways Churchgate-Virar Section
Western Railway’s had awarded a contract to Commtel for design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of Narrowband Access Multiplex equipment for their most important local suburban train route from Churchgate to Virar. Commtel has deployed Nokia Siemens Networks flagship DB2 equipment along with various channel units for this mission critical application of Western Railways. Applications like Central Announcement, SCADA System and Passenger Reservation Systems have been programmed to function via these equipment. The entire link is being monitored and managed using a centralized Network Management system located at Mumbai Central.

Commtel secures contract for supply of Nokia Siemens Networks PDH Equipment for Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRC) is in process of implementing Phase II of the Mass Rapid Transport System (MRTS) for Delhi (National Capital Region). It includes extension of Line-1, Line-2 and Line-3, which are already operational. It also includes construction of new Line-4. The telecommunication system consists of dedicated SDH and PDH optical fiber based telecommunication system. Under this project, FIBCOM will provide SDH system while Commtel Networks will provide the Nokia Siemens Networks Narrowband Access Multiplexing equipment along with associated channel units. The Narrowband Access Multiplexing equipment will provide voice and data connectivity at various stations coming under this project, which will be implemented in a phased manner. Once built the The new Access Multiplexer transmission system will interconnect 86 stations to provide voice and data communication facilities along the metro rail route.

Commtel secures contract for supply of Nokia Siemens Networks PDH Equipment for Airports Authority Of Sri Lanka (AASL)
Commtel has provided a Nokia Siemens Networks make protected Narrowband Access Multiplex solution to AASL’s for transfer of mission critical data from their 360 Degree Radar Monitoring Station to the ATC center at Ratmalana Airport. The solution offering was part of total turnkey contract awarded by AASL to Fentons Limited who in turn awarded the NBA solution works to Commtel. We recently concluded training for AASL and Fenton personnel at our training center in Navi Mumbai.
